THE ESTATE

Less than ten minutes from downtown Napa, Pietra Serena unfolds across more than ten acres in Coombsville’s Avenues. Its name, Italian for serene stone, was inspired by the grand outcroppings of volcanic rock that break through the earth amid old-growth oaks, heritage olive trees, the meadow, and sweeping valley and mountain views.

Here, what matters most is space, time, and the freedom to let the day unfold however you choose. Paths beneath the oaks connect distinct places for gathering, recreation, and retreat, each with its own sense of discovery.

THE RESIDENCE

At the residence, the boundaries between indoors and out fall away. French doors stand open to the decks and gardens, coffee is enjoyed overlooking Mount George, and music carries from the kitchen to the terrace. Three en-suite bedrooms open directly to the grounds, allowing everyone to wake with the landscape just outside their door.

The primary wing offers a world of its own, with space to read, work, or simply close the doors and rest. Just outside, the detached guest suite/gym continues that private rhythm. It is a place for a morning workout followed by the outdoor shower, or, when the house is full, a quiet fourth bedroom with its own bath.

Below the main living spaces, the mood becomes more intimate. Centered on a custom carved wood bar and temperature-controlled wine cellar, the bar and entertainment room is made for a martini, a game of cards, and conversations that linger long after the last hand.

THE GUEST RESIDENCE

The guest residence offers overnight visitors the privacy and ease of a complete home of their own. A full kitchen, plenty of space for sleeping, living, and dining, and two balconies make a weekend stay feel like a stay at a casual Napa resort.

The ground floor brings remarkable scale to life on the estate, with room for six cars, a dedicated office, a workshop, and extensive storage with endless possibilities. A car collection can be kept beautifully, projects have room to take shape, and everything required to care for more than ten acres has a place of its own.

A backyard with tall, leafy trees providing shade. There is a small playground with a slide and swings, a stone wall, a bench, and a rock garden. The sun is shining through the trees.

THE GROVE

Follow the path beneath the oaks and the Grove reveals itself among dramatic volcanic rock outcroppings and filtered light. A game on the full-size bocce court can stretch across the afternoon, with something cooking in the outdoor kitchen and everyone finding their own place between the expansive lawn, relaxed seating area, and playground.

It feels removed from the rest of the estate, a private destination made for afternoons without an agenda.

A scenic outdoor swimming pool area during sunset, with two white umbrellas, lounge chairs, lush greenery, trees, and mountains in the background.

THE POOL

At the resort-style pool, plans have a way of disappearing. A swim becomes lunch outdoors. Lunch opens a bottle of wine. The wood-fired oven is lit, the spa warms, and afternoon gives way to evening almost unnoticed except for the captivating light of the sunset

With the outdoor kitchen close at hand and the valley stretching beyond, everything needed for the day is already here. Staying home becomes the occasion.

An outdoor patio area with a wood-fired oven, barbecue grill, and outdoor kitchen setup, surrounded by trees with sunlight peeking through.
A garden with rows of young plants, possibly tomato plants, and small greenhouses. There are trees and bushes surrounding the garden, with mountains in the background and a clear blue sky overhead.

THE GARDEN

The garden brings another rhythm to daily life. Mornings begin with eggs gathered from the coop, fresh citrus picked from the trees, or a harvest for the breakfast table. It is an unhurried hour spent connected to the earth, where nowhere else demands your focus.

Beyond the cultivated grounds, century-old olive trees, horse stables, and an open meadow preserve a landscape that remains alive and shaped by the seasons.

THE NAPA LIFESTYLE

Pietra Serena offers the dream of a quiet, private Napa estate. Downtown Napa, Oxbow Public Market, the Silverado Trail, celebrated restaurants and wineries, golf, and spa experiences are all within easy reach.

The possibilities are many, but the pace remains entirely your own. Not a retreat from life. A return to it.
